Get the Ruby mysql gem to build with MySQL installed from 64-bit binary installer:
sudo env ARCHFLAGS=”-Os -arch x86_64 -fno-common” \
gem install mysql -- --with-mysql-config=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config
